Glynn Morris (BSc(MechEng), MSc(Energy Studies)) is a non-executive director of AGAMA Energy having co-founded the company in October 2000 with Barry Morris. Glynn has dedicated his working career since 1985 to the renewable energy sector in Southern Africa with emphasis on policy and regulation for RE, re-structuring of the electricity industry, rural electrification planning, programme design and management, and technical design of RE projects. Glynn has also been in the forefront of developing the regulatory and trading mechanisms for green energy services within the context of developing countries having co-founded GreenX Energy with Grove Steyn in 2004. Glynn is a trustee of the Doug Banks Renewable Energy Vision (www.dougbanks.co.za) and an external examiner at the Energy Research Centre and Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. He is currently based in Kabul and working on the policy and regulatory aspects of rural electrification programmes based on renewable energy generation.
Greg Austin (PrEng, BSc (MechEng), MSc (Biomed Eng)) is a founding director of AGAMA Energy, and has worked in the renewable energy sector for well over a decade. Greg is an experienced mechanical engineer with a background in structural and dynamic finite element analysis (FEA) of structures and components in the energy and other sectors. Greg's experience includes energy project design and implementation, project and personnel management, engineering consultancy and business development activities, and the co-ordination and preparation of detailed technical and economic analyses. Within the RE sector, Greg focuses on biogas and bioenergy projects, as well as carbon consulting. Greg leads AGAMA Biogas, a subsidiary of AGAMA Energy, and has invented the now-patented prefabricated biogas digester called the BiogasPro.
Mike Munnik (Pr Eng, BSc(CivEng), MBA) is a director of AGAMA Energy. Mike has for the past three decades gained solid experience, both local and international, in the construction industry and predominantly as a senior manager with an international oil company. More recently, Mike was intimately involved in the successful delivery of the new head office for BP Southern Africa in the Cape Town Waterfront, a building acknowledged as being at the forefront of green and sustainable architecture. He brings wide-ranging project management and corporate experience, combined with a keen interest in renewable energy, to the AGAMA Energy team where he leads the Green Building unit. Mike is a Board member of the Green Building Council of South Africa, a Green Star assessor and Accredited Professional (AP).
Alastair Gets (PrEng, BSc(MechEng), CEM) is a Senior Sustainable Energy Engineer at AGAMA Energy. Alastair has over a decade of experience in the energy supply industry, half of that in the renewable energy sector. His current work focus lies in feasibility and techno-economic studies for renewable energy systems (particularly biogas and small hydro) as well as energy and carbon audits. Past experience includes code design and safety risk assessment.
Alistair Stewart has an MSc (Energy Development Studies) from UCT, a BSc (Physics & Applied Mathematics), and a BSc (ElecEng). Engineering experience in the building services includes the design of electrical systems, and some design of plumbing and drainage systems. Work experience, completed during the course of the MSc (2006 to 2008) at the Energy Research Centre, was on an ad-hoc basis, and included research, and various technical aspects of energy project implementation. Since 2009, work experience as a Sustainable Energy Engineer at AGAMA Energy has included various research projects, corporate energy audits, the technical design and implementation of thermal monitoring systems, the mathematical analysis of energy systems, and activities as a Green Star Accredited Professional..
Marisa Naude (BVSc) shares her professional experience as a practicing veterinarian (with twenty plus years experience in small animal veterinary private practice) with her passion for sustainable development, and specifically, more sustainable energy systems. She joined GreenX Energy in 2009 as the Marketing and Administration Manager. She focuses on developing the opportunities for events and conferences to operate on Green Power (using Tradable Renewable Energy Certificates, TRECs) and supporting existing longer-term Green Power customers in maximising the benefits of their Green Power commitments.
Nwabisa Ngxaza joined AGAMA Energy in May of 2010 as a receptionist and administrative assistant, from similar positions in the leisure and environmental sectors. Her duties provide an essential contribution to the daily operation of AGAMA Energy.
Barry Morris, is a non-executive director based in Boston. Barry has over two decades of software industry experience, based in both Europe and America. He was formerly CEO of IONA Technologies PLC, the market leader in distributed object technology, where he grew a public software company profitably from approximately $90M to over $180M in annual revenue. IONA is the most successful Irish software company, and one of the most successful in Europe.
Ann-Mari Malan, Bookkeeper and Office Administrator, has thirteen years of experience in the Accounting and Office Administration field. Her experience ranges from Office Administration, Payroll and Bookkeeping to Management Accounts level. Along with this she gained valuable experience at their family business in a managerial position. She has gained experience in the energy field and successfully completed a First Aid Level 1 course in her time with AGAMA.
