Carbon projects that AGAMA Energy has undertaken include:

  • Kuyasa CDM Project (2003/4) - (the first CDM project registered in Africa and the first Gold Standard CDM project registered worldwide) – AGAMA Energy appointed as technical consultants for the development and registration of a new small-scale CDM methodology for low-income housing retrofits and development of a PDD for the installation of solar water heaters, ceilings and energy efficient lights on 2309 houses in Kuyasa, Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa
  • WC Kuyasa Pilot CDM Project: Business Plan Development (2006) AGAMA Energy appointed by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism as consultants for the development of a business plan for the installation of solar water heaters, ceilings and energy efficient lights on 2309 houses in Kuyasa, Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa
  • Design Indaba (2007) AGAMA Energy appointed to undertake a carbon emissions inventory for Design Indaba held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC)
  • Green Building Council of South Africa (2008) AGAMA Energy appointed to undertake a carbon emissions inventory for GBCSA Convention & Exbibition, CTICC, Cape Town
  • Premier Pork Producers (2008) AGAMA Energy appointed to assess the impact of carbon finance on the viability of on-farm biogas systems for pig farmers
  • CDM project validation for Humphries Swine Manure Biogas Project, Limpopo (2007) AGAMA Energy provided expert biogas technical services as a sub-consultant to Price Waterhouse Coopers for submission of a PDD
  • F-CDM-NM0263: Method for Solar Water Heaters for hot water applications (2008) AGAMA Energy provided technical services as a sub-consultant to SouthSouthNorth for the development of a new programmatic CDM methodology for solar water heating.
  • Programmatic methodology for thermal efficiency in housing (2008) AGAMA Energy is appointed with SouthSouthNorth to provide specialist energy modelling, monitoring and methodology design inputs for the development and registration of a programmatic CDM methodology and associated technical tools for more efficient low-income housing.
