Green Building projects that AGAMA Energy has undertaken include
  • Cape Town Convention Centre: Phase 2: Concept design stage (2007/8) AGAMA Energy (in association with Arup) was appointed as the sustainability consultant on this major R1.4 bn project to guide and co-ordinate the concept and feasibility stage development plans for the building in terms of the Green Star rating system. The project is aiming at a 6 Green Star rating (“world leadership”).
  • Portside development for OMIPG (2008) AGAMA Energy has been appointed as the sustainability consultant on this project, a building comprising 44 levels (100 000m2 including parking) in the Cape Town CBD. Our involvement covers an initial preassessment of the existing design in terms of the Green Star rating system, identification of possible additional credits that could be considered, and guidance and support in the preparation of documentation required for submission to the GBCSA for assessment and rating.
  • Southern African Wildlife College (1998) AGAMA Energy provided consultancy services for WWF-SA on a R30 million KfW-funded greenfields development of a Wildlife College in the Kruger National Park. The appointment included strategic energy planning and inputs and normal engineering services for the design and supervision of solar water heating and solar PV systems for the SAWC.
