Green Buildings: Services |
|
AGAMA Energy offers the following services in field of sustainable development and green buildings:
- Advice and guidance to owners, developers and the professional design team on green building aspects. Most value is added if the appointment is made at the outset of the project
- Compilation of documentation for submission to Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) as part of the requirements to achieve a Green Star rating
- Energy – interventions aimed at minimizing overall energy consumption, plus the design of on-site renewable energy generation (eg solar water heaters, solar PV (photo voltaic), wind generation, methane capture from biogas digester). In addition we can undertake an overall energy strategy for the development and produce a management plan addressing risks associated with energy service delivery (eg price stability and security of supply).
- Water – interventions aimed at minimizing the use of potable water required from the municipal mains supply. This covers opportunities such as rainwater capture and the reuse of water generated by the project (eg greywater recycling)
- Waste – interventions aimed at an integrated waste management strategy for the development. This covers the on-site treatment of sewage and the organic fraction of food waste through the provision of a biogas digester that captures the energy (methane) and can be used for cooking or electrical generation. At the same time this reduces the waste to landfill requirement.
